Looks like a good desk. Sturdy, solid, heavy and lots of surface space. However, poor material production and terrible instructions really drag this product down. Several of the machines cuts were on the wrong side of the board, necessitating that I make my own changes. The instructions also failed to include critical steps for building the desk - such as missing the screws that hold one of the section together. I found myself commenting several times about how foolish shortcuts were taken in designing this product and how easily it would’ve been just to design it better. That said, you do get what you pay for. This is a decent solution for the budget minded shopper. It’s made of fiber board and uses those stupid lock screws that are so common in flat-pack products. The desk is big and solid, even if there were questionable engineering aspects to it. It’s the right height for me to work at and it feels very comfortable to work at this desk.Is it perfect? No. This product is deeply flawed in many respects. However, it’s a good budget desk - especially if you need a lot of working surface and storage. The return can be either on the left or the right, giving you plenty of arrangement options.I love this desk! It provides a lot of organizing space without taking up a lot of room. The L shape has greatly improved my work area. I was using a big work table for my computer - it was not good. The two long shelves on one leg of the L shape are really handy for storing notebooks. There are also shelves on the end of that section that face outward and are great for storing smaller things. My desktop computer does not have a separate CPU, so I am storing quite a few framed 16x20 pictures in the CPU space with no problem. I was worried that the lack of a pullout keyboard would be a problem, but so far it's okay without it. The file drawer, which can be adjusted for letter or legal size folders, is helping to clear some of the clutter. There are two additional drawers for storing supplies, etc. My sister helped me put it together - it was great to have another pair of hands. I don't know if I could have gotten everything done by myself. It's heavy - I had the delivery person put it in the carport and then brought it into the house in several trips. You need a good space to put it together close to where you want it. It's a little unwieldy because of the L shape but that's what makes it so useful once it's in place and in use. The directions were sometimes a little confusing. It really helped to sort out the pieces beforehand - like with like. I thought I was short on 4 of the cam lock pieces, but they were caught up in the feet.I was hoping that this desk would greatly improve my work space and it did. I'm very pleased.Defective product broken from the cornerOnce it's put together it's a fine desk that looks nice, but putting it together was quite a challenge. It came with a few damaged boards, nothing that compromised the desk, but some pretty serious cosmetic stuff. While assembling, we had to drill our own holes for hardware because the pre-drilled holes were too small for the hardware provided. Also, the directions instruct you to build the desk upside down, starting with the top of the desk on the floor and then adding bottom pieces. That's all fine and well, but it kept falling apart while we were trying to flip it over. Wound up using a few extra screws to reinforce the joints. If we ever move this desk will just go in the trash because there's no way to move it without it falling apart.I'm giving this desk 4 stars a little against my better judgement. Assembly is straight forward when following the directions carefully. The particle board doesn't take well to the the metal dowels and nuts but the screws work very well. They put sticky labels on the working surfaces that are readily seen and then they can't be removed without leaving a mark! Couldn't they put them on the underside? I had to remove the glue with olive oil and then the marks didn't entirely disappear. Dumb. Having said all that.....once assembled the desk is very stable (very heavy) and functually very good. Lots of top space and storage and working cubby holes and the drawers work well. For a cheap desk it's a very good value, thus 4 stars. The desk is beautiful. Very sleek, stylish design. Unfortunately the directions were written by a complete idiot, and you'll have to observe the same picture-only step about 40 times to make sure you're doing it right. In the end, it all came together, but I'd like to note that the way they packaged the hardware for the build is completely unprofessional, 10 different types of screws, and dowels, and cams, etc all thrown into one bag, which promptly tore open during shipping, leaving me to open the box to discover a confetti of important pieces needed to assemble the desk. You will need two people to stand the desk up after its complete.Content with my purchase, all in all.Love the desk but very disappointed that the drawers do no line up. Seems that the holes were not drilled in the correct place. For the money, you would think it would be ok. Tried to call the mfg, but only get a voicemail and no returned calls or emails from them. One reason I liked the desk was for the drawer storage. Hope to get this resolved soon. Would give it 5 stars if drawers were good.We bought two of these desks for our home office and I really like their look (especially that they were not hollow core like some of these desks that look just like this one). The only complaint I have is that the inside portion of the 3 drawer section that is by the arm of my chair is peeling off because my chair hits it. My husband's desk is doing the same thing but we have the same type of chair so not surprising. We just put some black electrical tape on the corner to keep it from peeling off anymore and seems to be okay. It isn't a million dollar desk so I am not too alarmed by this happening. Would definitely buy them again.
